WORK INVOLVED
You can make a real difference to the lives of people who urgently need your support and knowledge.
The voluntary work is based in the South of Lima in the district of Chorrillos. Working hours vary but you can expect to work between 4-5 hours daily. In addition to your daily activities you will receive Spanish classes designed for your level. You can work as:
- an English teacher to teach children;
- as a doctor to run health campaigns in the community;
as a Psychiatrist/Psychologist in the area of PTSD to work with women and their children |

THE PEOPLE AND THE PLACE

Becoming a volunteer to work in Lima means that you will be working with children and their families who need the most of your knowledge to improve their lives in the area of Los Huertos. You will leave with a loving and caring Peruvian family for 2 weeks in the district of Chorrillos in the south of Lima. Families are chosen from a local school which has nearly 3,000 school children who are ready to learn from you. |
COST
Cost per person for 2 weeks is £499 which covers all your volunteer programme. The registration fee to participate in this programme is £150. Please send a cheque for this amount payable to Help Women and Children to: 96 Cotterill Road, Surbiton, Surrey, KT6 7UL, England.
You can extend your 2 weeks voluntary programme up to 20 weeks with an additional cost of £99 per week (Spanish classes cost not included) |

We also would like to carry on helping many British mothers, and fathers, who come to our workshops in order to find their first steps to their own recovery. We also would like to build a community centre in the South of Lima where families can learn new skills in order to improve their way of living and come out of poverty.
