OUR WORK IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AND PERU

HELP WOMEN AND CHILDREN is a Christian British Charity set up by Martha Jesty and run only by volunteers with the aim to help women who have suffered Post Natal Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PN PTSD) after childbirth.

From this To This One of our aims is to help women who are suffering from Post Natal PTSD by being a listening ear to them. A team of health professional and counselors receive e-mails and calls from mothers, and also fathers, who are suffering trauma after the birth of their child. We allow them to express themselves without judging them and then we guide them in their first steps of recovery. We also run Therapeutic workshops and conferences through the year for post natal sufferers and health professionals as well as Christian leaders. Our work is endless: raising awareness of PN PTSD in the United Kingdom,  working together with health professionals to prevent it, speaking at international conference and in the media.  You can be part of our work by becoming a partner for as little as £2.99 per month which will help us to carry on this mammoth work. From this To This We work in conjunction with Peruvian Christian charity Help Children to give Peruvian children a good start in life, releasing them from poverty and enabling them to become fulfilled adults.  We do this through: Sponsorship scheme offering people the opportunity to support a child’ education in Lima Doing Volunteer work in Lima , teaching English to children and promoting walks in Peru by trekking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. We have chosen these children from very low income families and from mothers who have suffered birth trauma, sexual or physical abuse,  abandoned or widows and they have not received any justice or help neither from the government nor the police.  Poverty adds to the distress of these hard working Peruvian mothers. We help them by preparing therapeutic workshops to improve their self steam, prepare them to get a job, receive counseling, provide education to one of their children among many other things. In order to take these families from poverty we provide a small loan to start their own business and sell their work through this website.
